ACT Sports Awards

As many of you are aware – Tuggeranong Archery Club is a Finalist in the ACT Minister for Sports 2025 Awards for Events Excellence. This recognises the mammoth effort put in by our volunteers and the sacrifice of shooting time by you, the valued members of our club to accommodate the Youth National Championships earlier in the year. The winner will be announced on 20th November at the awards night.

Thanks to Archery ACT for covering the cost of 6 tickets to facilitate attendance and representation of archery at the event.

Australian Masters Games

We made it through the Australian Masters’ Games!
Thanks to all of our volunteers who contributed to the planning, maintenance, happening on event days, set up and pack up. It was a packed week with approximately 100 competitors daily and fantastic feedback all round.  It’s a privilege to be able to host an event that brings people together and recognises the diversity within archery.

Christmas Shoot

Mark it in your calendar – the Club Christmas Shoot is happening on Sunday 21st December. Further details to follow, but this is a fun shoot for all TAC members! We’ll have food, fun and maybe even some prizes on offer. Let us thank you and embrace the silly season with a fun shoot with your archery friends!

Come’n’Try and Ozbow shut down

Come’n’Try and Ozbow will have their last sessions on Sunday, 14th December. They will recommence next year aligned with the school term.

Call for Volunteers

We still need an Events Manager and a Canteen Manager for the Club Committee. Positions are supported by previous position holders, so you’ll have someone to ask for advice if needed. So, what do these positions do and how might you be contributing to the club?

Canteen Manager

–       Stocktaking and order requests for the canteen food and drinks
–       Coordination of volunteers to staff the canteen on Sundays
–       Working knowledge of Point of Sales (POS) system a bonus, but not necessary
–       You’ll be keeping club members refreshed and fed!
–       You’ll be assisting volunteers in the canteen to welcome members and guests to the club, collect range fees, assist in membership enquiries and collection of feedback

Events Manager

–       Working with the club Recorder and Registrar to map events for the year
–       Planning for events and coordination of volunteers on the day of the event (we’ve got templates for most of this)
–       Liaison with the club committee
–       You’ll be assisting members at all levels to attend events that help them achieve qualifying scores, have fun and generally engage in the broader club, state and national archery community
–       You’ll be connecting local businesses and community groups to gain exposure within the archery community

If you’re interested in either position, please contact secretary@tuggeranongarchery.com.au and detail which position you’d like to know more about, or volunteer for.
